Current projects: I’m singing the lead role of Thomas (a young,
lovesick tenor) in Karl Keppler’s opera, At a Party, performing at the Bowery
Poetry Club (308 Bowery, between Bleeker and
Hudson) on May 22nd at 10PM. Tickets
are available at the door for $20, or call 212-614-0505. I’ll be singing carols in a spec radio
commercial, for Andy Mendelson. I’ll be acting in spec commercials for the
director’s reel of Sean Scanlin at O Positive. I’m doing a libretto workshop for American Opera Projects on May 7th. I appeared in a short video for Howcast.com, directed by Colin Rich,
entitled How to Get Your Seatmate to
Shut the Hell Up, playing the annoying seatmate. It should appear on the website shortly. I’m a voiceover actor for a radio drama called The Adventures of Charlie Black,
directed/written by Xavier Paul. I played several characters for episode
one: "The Weathermaster", including
the main villain, and am in process of recording more episodes. I will be singing on the demo CD for Merry-Go-Round,
the musical I performed a reading of in December (recording it in June). I will be singing several solo songs:
“Manhattan Blues,” “Dreams of Yesterday,” and the songs I performed at the
reading, “XYZ,” and the duet, “Time,” in addition to ensemble numbers. I have started freelancing with Emerging Talent
Agency. I perform in murder mysteries and corporate
team-building events for two companies, ComedyTheater
and the Go Game. Recent projects (2008): I sang a lead part on the song, “Knights on the
Rim,” a song for Michael Vicari for his School of Visual Arts final 3D
animation project. I played the role of Phil for filmed scenes as
part of a multimedia play, Fire Island, a world premiere by Charles Mee (author of Big Love, Iphigenia 2.0 and Orestes
2.0, among others), for 3-Legged Dog
Productions. Filming occurred summer and fall of 2007, and it April
10 to May 3, Thursday-Saturday evenings at 8PM at 3-Legged Dog (80 Greenwich
St. in Manhattan). Some footage and more information is available here. I appeared in The Blue Flower at Prospect Theatre Company, playing
the Typewriter Man, a dada performance artist. It's a musical about the
relationships of four artists during World War I (and three other characters,
including mine, who serve as a Greek chorus/framework). The piece was
in the New York Musical Festival in 2004
and has received awards for the piece and for its composers, Jim and Ruth
Bauer. It ran Feb 2 - March 2 at the West End Theatre (263 West 86th
Street in Manhattan). I acted/puppeteered a
costumed character at New York Comic Con, specifically a bagpipe player
creature, for the Hellboy 2 panel presentation and photo shoot,
with Guillermo del Toro, Ron Perlman, Selma Blair, and others. |
